The new release is focused on features that enable organizations to track the effectiveness of their personalization, referral and E-mail promotions, from click through rates to campaign conversion and ROI. Using the Referral Campaign feature, Sitebrand customers like Master Graphics and Computerland.ca can track the amount of revenue generated by visitors who have been referred to their Web site by partners, search engines, sponsorship links and advertisement buys. The ability to associate a cost to the campaign and to track revenue generated by referral partners, or as a result of paid search engine campaigns, is key to determining the effectiveness of marketing campaigns from a revenue generation perspective. Sitebrand enables marketers to identify the visitors, buyers and the associated revenue generated by the promoted product(s), the email campaign or referral site, but also identify visitors who purchased based on personalization web campaigns. The campaign revenue can also be compared to the revenue generated for the same promoted product(s) by those visitors who didn’t arrive to the site via the email or referral campaigns, or were not exposed to the personalization campaign. This gives marketers the decision support they need to make budgetary decisions upon concrete data—as opposed to imprecise estimates, or guesswork—a key to maximizing investment in marketing, and ensuring profitability. For Web sites that receive frequent visits from the same people on a daily basis, like the visitors of another Sitebrand customer, Canada Post Corporation’s Postal Code Look-up utility, it is important to be able to control the number of times a site visitor can be exposed to a personalization campaign, to ensure that customers are not unduly or negatively saturated with campaign offers. Sitebrand’s new per visitor triggering rule feature enables Sitebrand customers to limit the number of times a visitor is presented with personalization campaigns (e.g. a maximum of once per day), regardless of the status of applicable business rules or other campaign activation settings. In v3.5, the campaign-specific Executive Summary reports have also been enhanced to report on the newly added campaign revenue and costing. Now Sitebrand customers will have first hand information regarding InSite’s impact and contribution to their bottom line. Chris Carkner from the Royal Canadian Mint uses Sitebrand’s built-in Email Campaign Management feature regularly for targeted promotional offerings. The new version of InSite provides the Royal Canadian Mint with the ability to leverage the new “extended” e-mail list export file. This export file contains visitor demographics and session data associated with all subscribers who clicked through to the Web site from a Sitebrand-based email campaign. The “extended” export list file contains the following subscriber session information: E-mail Address, Country, State, City, the number and dates of previous visits, the click-path and transactional information of the subscriber’s session when they clicked through on the e-mail campaign. “By helping us identify the subscribers who actually completed transactions and understanding their online behaviour and buying habits enables the Mint to further segment our visitors for more targeted e-mail campaigns in the future”, said Mr. Carkner.
